Soundcation was founded by Dennis Sheperd & Edwin Tsui with the goal of creating an inspiring and transformative experience for music producers. Dennis is an internationally renowned DJ / music producer in the genres of progressive, house, trance and techno with a huge amount of experience and passion that he brings to all retreats. Since its establishment in 2017, Soundcation has developed into a platform for helping emerging talent to discover, grow, and unlock the full potential of their music productions and careers.

The idea of Soundcation came into existence with Edwin Tsui – a long-term coaching student and good friend of Dennis. The two met in 2016 via a mutual musician contact and began creating Soundcation, motivated by their organic mutual love for music production and Dennis’ love for mentorship. The first co-hosted retreats were a huge success and offered a nurturing and creative space for producers from all around the world. Edwin played a pivotal role in forming Soundcation’s original vision and helping set a solid foundation for the concept.

A humble creative producers workshop in an exotic location turned into a series of immersive retreats in the most beautiful places on the planet. Over the years, Soundcation has done 15+ retreats in Amsterdam, Berlin, Bali, Phuket, and even the mountains of Bulgaria. All of them were the perfect blend of education and inspiration with fun.

Dennis has been running the retreats solo since 2024, continuing to lead and organise the retreats with his experience and dedication. Soundcation enables music producers from around the globe to embark on an unforgettable journey of learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
